Description: Behind the story: Attapady, essentially a tribal block in the Palakkad district of Kerala, comprises of the three primitive communities namely the Irular, the Muduga and the Kurumbar. These indigenous peoples, comprising 27% of Attapady’s population, mostly inhabit the forest areas of southwestern slopes, uplands and foothills of the Nilgiri range.
